This unit is divided into three sections: Section 1 covers Canada’s Population Trends and Health Record; Section 2 examines Canada’s Environmental Record; Section 3 briefly discusses Canada’s Occupational Health Record. Together they lay the groundwork for our sociological examination of Environmental Influences on Development and Aging across the Life Course. Note that we are using the term aging in this course to describe the biological progression -- across the life course -- from conception to death. Negative or positive impacts during developmental stages can influence the “aging” process negatively or positively.
